I loved my C-Max and my friend has one she's placed over 300,000 miles on! Mine it around 216,000. Great to travel in and wonderful on gas! I am so happy mine has been so dependable.
    • Roomy little car, low maintenance

Bought this car in 2016 with just 9K original miles on it from Carmax. Averaging just over 7K miles per year, and outside of the back up camera not working (stopped) a few years ago and never fixed it...the car is awesome! PROS: Longevity: The hybrid battery is still running just fine and seems to be holding the same amount of charge according to gas fillups. I can see the car go easily another 50K at least before a major repair. Maintenance: Mostly have just done oil changes and tire rotations, and other than that smaller tuneup stuff like spark plugs and two ignition coils. It hasn't had any gremlin issues that were costly or expensive. I have also redone the rear shocks because this car is driven heavily in a city with potholes everywhere. Interior room: For a small car, it has got enough headroom and leg room up front for two 6'4" people, and those same people felt comfortable riding in the back on a 2 hr drive. Very roomy, and the driver seat can elevate so that your almost as high as an SUV driver if you want to seem more of the rood. It's roomy but still short enough to park in many spots. Hatchback: I do love the hands-free opening of the hatchback especially when you have a ton of groceries or have kids' hands, etc. The auto lift and close for the hatch are great, too. There's also good room in the back and when you fold down the seats to transport stuff. CONS: One issue: It does do mini lurches when pavement is wet and you're going from cement/asphalt to a steel plate, or vice versa. It seems strange, but this only happens in wet conditions and may only be a function of this particular car. It is manageable, but is a surprise the first time you encounter it. But overall, it happens maybe 1% of time while driving and never at fast speeds. Mostly, when you're starting from a stopped position at slow speeds. INFOTAINMENT: This is older since it's a '13, and the navigation system is pretty useless. I mostly use it to listen to the radio and for Bluetooth. Sometimes, the audio volume goes away and it's hard to get it back unless you just completely turn off the car and restart. Doesn't happen often. There a lot of controls on the steering wheel which are helpful. But then there is some duplication of controls in the center console and touchscreen. Bad battery placement: The 12-volt battery is placed under the rear hatch floor and takes a little undoing of things to get to, so it's not an easy just drop it in switch if/when you need a new one. Summary: It's not a speed demon, but it holds its own on the highway, may not be as cushiony a ride on bad roads, it's roomy for tall drivers, and relatively low maintenance. And it gets high 30s to mid 40s mpg! I would definitely buy this model again if they were still making it in the US.

I wanted a hybrid car. I found this car and test drove it. I enjoyed it in so many ways. It sit high so getting in and out is easy. The comfort, space, design and extras surprised me. I have driven it with no issues mechanically. My avg mileage is 39 mpg even being 12 years old. I enjoy it and appreciate how it was built, to last and quality
